Have you ever considered becoming a Trustee?
Our Trustees come from all walks of life, but are united by their wish to create positive change in society.
What is a trustee?
Cambridge Cyrenians trustees are a group of people with legal responsibility for the overall management and decision making of the charity, and play an important role in its general direction and performance.
Being a trustee is a voluntary position and most people are eligible to serve as trustees.
Our trustees come from all walks of life, and are united by their wish to create positive change in society. The work is rewarding and hopefully enjoyable, as well as providing an opportunity to serve the community while learning new skills.
We are always looking for individuals who are able to make a commitment to Cambridge Cyrenians, and to give the necessary time, together with an ability to think creatively, independently and with a willingness to speak up. We seek people from a wide range of backgrounds, who will bring a fresh perspective to the Board; and in particular, individuals who have experience in social housing, business development, finance, policy making or a legal background.
Potential members would receive a thorough induction into the organisation and its work and the responsibilities of members. During the induction there would also be opportunities to meet existing trustees and staff, as well as visit the various projects. Members are expected to attend approximately eight board meetings per year.
We are especially keen to achieve a more diverse board of trustees, and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.
