With homelessness on the increase we are seeing significant numbers of men and women with mental health issues that are not being addressed and which are preventing them from moving on. Cambridge Cyrenians wish to employ a motivated and enthusiastic Mental Health Worker to support many of these individuals.  Working as part of a small team based at our city centre office, the post holder will assist residents of our accommodation services who they assess as needing mental health support, helping them to prepare for living independently and to access services considered to be beneficial to the client. Clients will not require a formal diagnosis in order to receive support.

The post offers:

37 hour working week
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days
Clinical supervision
NMC Pin number paid for
Continuous learning and development
Opprtunity to shape an exciting new role

 What is a trustee?
Cambridge Cyrenians trustees are a group of people with legal responsibility for the overall management and decision making of the charity, and play an important role in its general direction and performance.

Being a trustee is a voluntary position and most people are eligible to serve as trustees.

Our trustees come from all walks of life, and are united by their wish to create positive change in society. The work is rewarding and hopefully enjoyable, as well as providing an opportunity to serve the community while learning new skills.

We are always looking for individuals who are able to make a commitment to Cambridge Cyrenians, and to give the necessary time, together with an ability to think creatively, independently and with a willingness to speak up.  We seek people from a wide range of backgrounds, who will bring a fresh perspective to the Board; and in particular, individuals who have experience in social housing, business development, finance, policy making or a legal background.

Potential members would receive a thorough induction into the organisation and its work and the responsibilities of members. During the induction there would also be opportunities to meet existing trustees and staff, as well as visit the various projects. Members are expected to attend approximately eight board meetings per year.

We are especially keen to achieve a more diverse board of trustees, and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.

A volunteer Clerk to the Board, or minute taker is also needed. This person's responsibility is to minute the meetings and to send out all the relevant paperwork.

Anyone interested should contact the Manager, Brian Holman on 01223 712501 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
